Safe, simple, chemical-free bird control! Bird Repeller Ribbon provides spot control for nuisance birds by producing an optical and audible discomfort zone that they find disturbing to be around. Increased width for extra effectiveness. Holographic reflective tapes. Reflective Ribbon Scare Tape measures 2” wide (1.7”) by 0.0787” thick by 100 feet long roll.
Holographic image creates moving reflection which frightens and deters birds. Effectively keeps birds away from ground crops, fruit trees and vines, and any other area where birds are a nuisance. Uses sound and visual sight warnings to scare and keep away birds and is extra-wide for extra-effectiveness. Holographic, iridescent polyester tape creates a visual discomfort zone for birds and other nuisance animals. Hung in the breeze, reflective tape bird repellent projects flashing reflective images. Birds leave the area promptly and stay away as long as it’s there. Tape is extremely effective at repelling all birds, but is especially useful for use with woodpeckers, pigeons, sparrows, starlings, crows, blackbirds, grackles, seagulls and gulls, swallows, ducks, geese, predators and more. Even larger animals, such as deer, shy away from it. 100’ long roll. Both sides of the Polyester material have the reflective/holographic silvery image that the birds seem to avoid, and they don’t seem to get used to it over time. A breeze helps keep it moving, and increases its effectiveness.
Simple to install. Hang strips anywhere. Ideal for use in yards, berry and grape vines, orchards, gardens, vineyards, rooftops, wood siding, ponds, parks, boat docks, private beaches, patios, balconies and railings, garages, porches, or use in any open outdoor area or any semi-enclosed area with access to light and wind. Simply stretch and spiral the ribbon along garden rows; the holograms flash dramatically in the slightest breeze, sending feathered friends on their way. When applied in a line fashion along a narrow ledge or on top of a fence, the ribbon can deter bird roosting. If cut into 24” to 30” strips and hung from the outer limbs of trees, it provides a useful deterrent for small orchards and landscaping. Simply cut the ribbon into desired lengths with scissors and either tie, nail, tack, or glue directly onto areas to protect, anywhere around the garden or in trees or bushes. Can also be used as avoidance tags for deer fencing. Simply cut 2 to 3 foot lengths and fasten to the fencing, 4 to 5 feet up from the ground. Very effective!
How It Works: Multi-sensory attack includes visual confusion and metallic sounds. This super thick, sturdy tape bothers all of a bird’s sensess and scares away birds with:
- Visual Scare: birds are scared by the 3-D holographic effect and the material’s sheen, as the light causes constantly changing reflections and shadows. The light reflected from its 2″ wide holographic surface is menacing to most pest birds. Repels birds with 3-D shapes and colors. Strips reflect light for added effect. The holographic material shimmers and shines in the sunlight, disorienting any bird that catches a glimpse. The strips on the ribbon are also reflective, and they disperse light around the area to discourage birds from landing.
- Sound scare: This bird repeller ribbon creates a metallic noise as it flaps in the wind, adding an additional threatening sound to keep pest birds away. It rattles their nerves as it blows in the breeze. Movement from wind action produces a metallic rattling sound which is also unsettling to cautious deer.
- Physical Deterrent: repeller ribbon birds are blocked by the ribbon hanging on any surface.
After the bird tape has blown in the wind all spring, summer, and fall, it may start to deteriorate and break off in small pieces and blow away. You will have to replace it seasonally because the holographic pattern fades and the mylar tape does break (from whipping in the wind), but that is a VERY small price to pay for the end result! Many routinely remove it in the early winter and throw it away after the wind, sun, and rain have removed some of its reflectiveness and before the winds tear it away. Then, in the spring, install new stips.
Widely used by commercial growers, strongly endorsed by state agricultural agencies, holographic bird scare ribbon is a proven effective way to protect crops of any size from birds.
Will not work to scare birds away from nests with young in them, or from fruiting plants where the birds have already been feeding. The drive to nurture the young, and the allure of the best food a bird has ever eaten often overcome their reluctance to engage the scare tape. So, the scare tape must be installed before nests have eggs in them, and before fruiting plants become the birds’ cafeteria.
